Another nice touch is that there is a little section for each location that tells you the best time of year to go to the over-visited locations if none of the alternatives fit your fancy. I read each chapter heading (such as Ancient and Historical Sights or Captivating Cities) which listed the famous, well-known sites and what the book was suggesting as an alternative. This serves as a great resource book for planning your bucket list, especially if you want to be able to go to places that are not so busy with other tourists. Brilliant book - some really great ideas to go visit instead of the 'normal' tourist traps (and often overhyped destinations!
