Y12 Geography Field Trip
During this week the students visited key geographical areas including Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Studland sand dunes during which time they not only saw the sites but had interesting walk and talk sessions with the local wardens.
They were also actively involved in practising fieldwork techniques and collecting data for their A Level studies which involved measuring cliff profiles and spending the day knee deep in river water as they measured changes in river characteristics. All this work was against a backdrop of weather which was either sunny and cold or pouring with rain and blowing a force 9 gale. Despite this they worked with great enthusiasm, interest and determination and are now well prepared for their AS Geography paper in the summer.
