Please be aware that, owing to new tax rules, we, like other small presses, are currently unable to ship to EU countries, unless you are happy for us to send the pamphlets 'delivered duty unpaid', which may make you liable for import costs. A. Up to now, the press has acted on recommendations and scouted for poets, looking through magazines, awards and competitions (including our own international poetry competition). The obvious one is suggested by equation (6): increase the concentration (or, in the case of the oxygen, the pressure) of the species on the right hand side of the equation, and force the equilibrium back.

Si cumple todas mis expectativas, yo lo compararía con "El tío Tungsteno: recuerdos de un químico precoz" del genial Oliver Sacks! Clark was an American chemist active in the development of rocket fuels back in the 1960s and 1970s, and the book is both an account of the growth of the field and an explainer of how the science works. To reduce the equilibrium oxygen pressure, you obviously have to increase the N2O4 or the water concentration or both. ignitionpress guarantees our poets at least one online launch and, depending on where you live, one in-person launch. I also liked his description of how ignition delays of different substance combinations were measured and how the test setups ran the entire spectrum of complexity. So I'm hesitant to give this book a 2 star review, but I think this'll be useful to other readers who are looking for a book closer to "Skunk Works", whereas this book mostly amounts to information budding space programs would be better off having in a giant Excel sheet of attempted propellant mixtures.

However, it gets quite wonky in places and I occasionally felt like I needed considerably more organic chemistry knowledge to keep straight what was happening. You’ll find plenty about John and all the other sky-high crackpots who were in the field with him and you may even get (as I did) a glimpse of the heroic excitement that seemed to make it reasonable to cuddle with death every waking moment—to say nothing of learning a heck of a lot about the way in which the business of science is really conducted. A classic work in the history of science, listeners will want to get their hands on this influential classic, available for the first time in decades. I was struck by the names of the chemical firms that the author tosses off -- most of which are gone, and some of which are gone and disgraced -- the Ethyl Corporation, W R Grace, Standard Oil of California, and more. For those not familiar with basic chemistry the book is still an interesting read and quite understandable if you skip the chemical equations. Having a publication appearing so soon after a pamphlet makes it very difficult to sell the pamphlet, particularly if many of the same poems appear in the both the pamphlet and the collection.
