Welcome to Beaconsfield High School.

At Beaconsfield High School, we are extremely proud of our 6th Form and welcome applications from both current students, and prospective students from other schools.

Our students choose from a broad range of A Level subjects, and our academic rigour leads to a very strong record of placing students at the university or employment of their choice when they leave us. No matter where they go after Beaconsfield High, our students leave here equipped with the skills to enable them to flourish in the wider world beyond school. This is afforded them by our non-qualification subject lessons: the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) provides students with an invaluable opportunity to develop their research, creative thinking, analysis and presentation skills; and our Planning my Future programme includes information and guidance on UCAS, apprenticeships, and the world of work, along with opportunities such as charity fundraising, developing their knowledge of current affairs – and learning how to cook on a budget.

When it comes to extra-curricular activities, our 6th Form students lead by example. Model United Nations, Young Enterprise, Gold Duke of Edinburgh, Economics Society, Medsoc, peer tutoring, Becky Highlights, Student Leadership Team, Prefects, Sports Leaders and teams, 6th Form Working Party, Choir and musical ensembles – these are just a few of the areas in which our 6th Formers make a significant contribution to school life, leading groups of younger students and developing the transferable skills which lead to their successes in life after Year 13.

The transition to 6th Form can be challenging for some students. Whether a
student has been with us from Year 7, or joins us in Year 12, the strength of
pastoral support from our experienced 6th Form staff team, and from our vertical tutoring groups, ensures that student well-being is at the core of all that we do
during this final stage of their school education.

To find out more, we encourage you to browse the 6th Form pages of our website and if you have any questions, please contact our 6th Form Office on
01494 673043 ext 223.
