That is why it is somewhat iconic that Chung created such a timely text that brought something new to the table at the time: it spoke to the present, the past and the future. I'd recommend this to Chung fans who are curious about what kind of movies/celebrities/fashion she likes, though I'd recommend going into it not expecting too much. I thought going into this that it was going to sound semi-pretentious, but I - for the most part - really liked Alexa Chung’s writing voice. This is more the story of how her love of fashion began, and what brought her into the world of modelling/tv etc.

A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce.

From previous evidence in the text, we can assume that this mold of a standard girl or IT girl may allude to Chung´s physical appearance which she subjects as an unquestioned standard. It” without an exception discusses personal memories and experience which is both the advantage and the disadvantage of the book. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. In It, her first book, the global fashion-trendsetter Alexa Chung shares her own very personal inspirations, musings and eclectic sense of style.

Her apparently flawless fashion sense has made her a favorite of designers on both sides of the Atlantic and her "What I'm Wearing Today" photo blog has become a designated stop for her growing army of admirers. It covers everything from Alexa Chung’s thoughts on life, love and music to her favourite looks and how to decide what to wear in the morning.I quite like Alexa Chung, largely based on her style - I don't think I've ever seen her presenting anything - but that's probably the way most people think about her, hence the publication of this scrapbook-cum-style-guide rather than an autobiography. but to inspire vicious comments about her weight, or lack of it: how "ill" and "disgusting" she looks, and how she "needs to eat a burger". The darling of the fashion world and co-host of the music TV show Fuse News shares her inspirations, musings, and her own very personal and eclectic style. In case you have not heard of her, yet: Chung is a 34 year-old model who charmed designers everywhere with her lay-down attitude and her extraordinary looks. For instance, the book hardly touches on the complexities that come with holding, in her case, an Asian last name within a white-dominated industry, especially back in the early and mid 2010s.

The blogger-slash-ex-model-slash-photographer chose this title wisely since she is also one of those few new »It girls« that impress with their outfits and are smart businesswomen at the same time. Die-hard fans will no doubt embrace this slim, whimsical offering, or delight in receiving it as a gift. This is a very subtle moment of enlightenment that she could have pushed even further, potentially question and explore, yet Chung chooses to focus on describing the dinosaur t-shirt she wore endlessly during her modeling days while all the other models seemed to adhere to “the uniform of skinny jeans, skinny vest, skinny legs”. If this wasn't written by one of the most famous models of all time it would most likely have terrible reviews. Another, darker side of her fame rests on endless photos of her, followed by sneering comments about how thin/ skinny/ bony/ scrawny/ emaciated she is (select the abuse of your choice). She is also a contributing editor to British Vogue and has received numerous style awards, including the prestigious British Style Award, which she has won three years in a row. This book won't take you half an hour to read and afterwards you won't have gained anything and in a month you'll have forgotten everything because it was just so pointless. though it just at a glance looked ridiculously awful and I don't even know who Alexa Chung is (she's a model, I find out, but…) and fashion is something I don't care about.
