B. grössere Ausbrüche hat oder man einen anderen Winkel schleifen will, dann ist das Set dazu hervorragend geeignet, Absolut plane Steine, die in den gröberen Körnungen auch abrasiver als herkömmliche Schleifsteine sind. I’m looking at starting with the resin bonded cbn 50/40 micron and 20/14 micron stones if anyone has specific experience with these stones. I used the 306CBN on a range of O1, A2 and PM-V11 chisel and plane blades, and was very pleased with its performance. One side has a fast, aggressive 400-mesh (about 37 micron) and on the other side is a somewhat slower cutting 800-mesh (about 15 micron).

You can then flip them over and have almost 40 square inches of 1000 grit CBN to assist in sharpening your various blades and carving tools. For sure, with the resin bonded Venevs, you'll need a flattening kit such as a piece of glass and some SiC powder in a lower grit than your stones. I liked Spyderco CBN Sharpmaker rods and Gauntlet cat-eye CBN rods so well that I picked up the CBN benchstone as well. This is where the fixed abrasives are a god-send as you can trivially bring knives to very high sharpness with even coarse plates such as the Spyderco CBN assuming you use 1- lubricant, 2 - light pressure, - edge forward strokes at slightly higher angle to grind a micro bevel, 3 - alternating strokes from one side to other/ crossing scratch patterns. The case is compatible with 6" stones mounted or unmounted on aluminum blanks, total thickness up to 12 mm, width from 0.At 3″ x 8″ the 306CBN is big enough to handle the largest plane blades and it easily accommodates a honing guide. And if I only plan on sharpening to 800 + stropping, I would certainly appreciate the better ascetics of the edge. This sharpening stone is ideal for putting an edge on knives, sharpening wood chisels, plane irons, and similar tools.

That is interesting but perhaps you could share more information and someone aside from Cliff may have some insight? However, if you like to put a mirror finish on your cutting tools, you’ll want to move to a finer grit stone such as a 6000- or 8000-grit diamond stone. It offers much better value than a waterstone in that it’s harder, more durable, lasts longer and will never need to be flattened. These have their pros/cons just like anything else, but are probably somewhat different from the resin-bonded ones. But on the bright side, you can sharpen your blades without the mess of water stones, and they're gentle enough that you're not likely to remove too much metal by accident.Visi interneta veikalā redzamie naži ir sortimentā uz vietas veikalā un pieejami uzreiz, nav jāgaida kamēr tos saražos. It never requires flattening (though in all fairness neither do diamond stones) and it will sharpen any tool steel, including the S90V produced by Crucible.

Most important is that CBN is harder and has greater abrasion, thermal and chemical resistance than either synthetic diamonds (though less so than natural diamond), silicon carbide or aluminum oxide. I have gotten to the point where I am interested in knives that have more wear resistant steels as well as the allure of less flattening.I believe that the grit grades on these stones are ramped up to a point of not being true and correct. The Venevs, for sure, are brilliantly designed and I'm really happy with mine, nobody would ever go wrong getting a set of Venevs.
