A revelation if you're more used to the thumping, ostentatious style typical of the more traditional Aussie fare. Natural wines distinguish themselves however by a low interventionist approach on behalf of the wine maker.

To start off there is the Cabernet Sauvignon from 16 Little Black Pigs - this fruity gem pairs superbly alongside slow-roast lamb. ORANGE WINE is made from white wine grapes that are left to macerate with their skins which impart tannin, grip, structure, colour and flavour to the finished wine. Nothing is added or taken away with the exception of small amounts of sulphites for stability, often none at all. Using fruit sourced from his personal contacts in the McLaren Vale, winemaker Steve Grimley's team has produced a smooth, mouth-filling wine that's vegan-friendly. A classic Shiraz packed with intense black fruit, peppery spice and a finish that is as long as the Nile.

The winemaker is then given total freedom to source the grapes they want and to create the wine they want. We are not wine snobs, the black pig is not a fancy place; just a simple place where good friends can relax, eat and drink good food and good wine and create memories for many years to come.

We source from predominantly small artisan vineyards that are sourced directly by Irish wine merchants. It has a depth of black fruit that is incredible alongside intense spice and a full bodied style that screams out for grilled meats of all kinds, although its status as a vegan friendly wine makes it a popular choice across the board. We have now been working with the Fuse team for more than a decade blending up precisely to our stylistic needs. A wine that is ready to go right away but for those who like their wines a little mellower it will cellar for another 5 years happily and soften as the months drift away.
