The Firefly Vape comes equipped with 6 preset temperature settings which can be controlled by both your smart phone app and by using the smart technology sensors located on the side of the device. Both devices may be used with concentrates and this may be done with the use of their respective concentrate inserts. While this design hasn’t changed since the first PAX, it’s a design worth sticking to they’ve also only made the design smaller with each release. OK I found that like the previous dry herb vaporizers I’ve used the herb doesn’t need to be finely ground – keep it quite coarse.

I've been testing and or reviewing vaporizers for over a decade and I currently have over 200 different portable, desktop and pen style vaporizers. I can literally place my finger in the chamber (touching the glass side and the metal bottom), set it to concentrate temp (500F or 260C) and hold the trigger down for nearly 10 seconds before my finger starts to get warm.If you’re the impatient type, you’ll appreciate that the Firefly 2+ only takes 3 seconds to be ready for vaping. Be sure to charge your dry herb vaporizer in between sessions to avoid an unexpected dead vape battery. I’ll get more into the details down below in the Firefly APP info section, but the web app hasn’t been reliable for me at all. The 2+ doesn’t have that problem since the draw resistance is now much lower and much easier on the lungs, making it much easier to inhale all of the flavorful vapor. Both the Pax 3 and the Firefly 2+ aim to represent compact vaping at its finest and design-wise, they seem to have accomplished that.

They also provide seemingly similar experiences, with both of them monikered as “the iPhone of vaporizers”. It can go long intervals in-between cleanings without any performance loss but will get some buildup on the window.If you’re looking for the cleanest-tasting portable convection vaporizer, look no further than the Firefly 2. The Firefly 2+ looks similar to its predecessor, the main difference being the window that highlights the logo and sits beneath the viewing portal. The design teams for both the Firefly 2+ and the Pax 3 definitely seemed to think on similar planes when designing these devices. It takes a touch of technique to get the best results, but when you master this ultra-portable, on-demand convection gem, it delivers some of the best tasting clouds we've come across.

The way the air pathway is set up it is very easy for finely ground materials to find their way into your screen which again will restrict airflow over time. The heating chamber is made of a ceramic superalloy that works in conjunction with the borosilicate glass airpath to ensure the purity of the vaped weed. The rounded edges mean that it is a bit more pocket-friendly than most weed vapes since they help it to easily slip in and out of pockets. The mouthpiece is made from high-tech glass so you get the authentic flavour of whatever you’re vaping. Meaning that it’s something to do now and then, and I wouldn’t necessarily use it strictly for that purpose.Once your device is connected to the app, you can also then see some useful information such as the battery life and what temperature your Firefly is currently operating on. Whilst charging is super fast you do have to charge the battery whilst still inside the device – so make sure you keep one battery fully charged to stop you from hanging around! The sleek, compact metal design and ultra-fast heating time made it an instant hit with people who like to vape discreetly wherever they are. Instead of having a single firing button like the Pax, there are two touch sensors on the side of the device that has to be held while you draw. Because of that I was a little shall we say conservative with my first toke as I was expecting to get walloped by what the smell was suggesting.
