About this deal

aperture and the 50mm field of view, the lens is very versatile and it’s especially great for portrait and people photography. In terms of their size, these two lenses are actually not nearly as different as you may think when comparing an F2 lens to a F1.

has two rings on the lens barrel – a focusing ring on the front of the barrel, and an aperture ring close to the mount of the lens.I replaced mine with a 52mm Nikon cap,→ which is almost as good as the caps Fuji ships with their newer lenses. Once your application has been accepted, usually within minutes, we will immediately dispatch your equipment.

I’ve had this lens for many years now, and it can definitely take the punishment of being used on a daily basis. Additionally make sure your User-Agent is not empty and is something unique and descriptive and try again. With its classic rendering style, the photos captured with this lens evoke a nostalgic feel, reminiscent of the film era. The XF 35mm f2 definitely produces great bokeh as well, and it’s only a stop slower but depending on how you shoot at times, that stop can make a big difference.Street Photography: while focal length choice for street is highly personal, the Fujifilm XF 35mm f/1. The main difference between the 35mm f/2 WR and the XC version is that the later is not weather sealed and it’s made out of plastic rather than metal. I had the XF 35mm f/2 R WR for about a year and while it is an excellent lens I ended up trading it for the f/1.

Most striking for this review is the selection of a lens that Fujifilm doesn't consider optimal for use with the 40MP sensor. Fuji’s seemingly little-known lens-tuning strategy of centre-sharpness at wide apertures, and edge to edge sharpness at smaller ones is especially apparent with this lens. But let’s compare it to the main alternative, the Fujifilm 35mm f2 lens and see when which is a better fit.In terms of focal length, they are all very close, but of course in true full-frame equivalency, the 35s are 53mm, and the 33 is EXACTLY the 50mm. is so sharp, and depth-of-field is so thin at macro distances, that the ice just a few millimeters closer is obviously out of focus. Fujinon still uses glass for the aspherical element on these older lenses and this often causes onion ringing in the bokeh. Cons: Some CA, Slow AF in low light or when using CDAF in AF-C mode, not weather-sealed, noisy so not good for video, some CA, some field curvature.

If you want a compact camera that produces great quality photos without the hassle of changing lenses, there are plenty of choices available for every budget. This is because it offers an angle of view that is perfect for a huge range of applications, from portraiture to landscape, street photography to close-ups. Topping the wish list is silent autofocus and the lens getting the WR badge for a weather-resistant lens. If you’ve been following me on Twitter or Instagram, you’ll know that I recently caved and bought the Fujifilm 35mm f/1.Unauthorised use and/or duplication of this material without express and written permission from this blog’s author and/or owner is strictly prohibited. I haven’t had the chance to use this on any of my travels yet but even around the house in lockdown the images it produces are beautiful. Since you have to move around and get creative with how you want to tell the story of your surroundings, you’ll end up iterating various compositions until something works. They don’t have that slight hollow feel that was a trait in some of the first generation lenses like the XF 35mm f1. This is a lens designed to produce a very classic look that was in line with Fujifilm’s original ethos with the X-Pro 1.
