Our journey led us up an alleyway where we crossed a bridge next to a cafe - that also offered a type of boat tour - from here we entered the gardens. My lady and I feel blessed and lucky to have found this totally amazing venue, pub and eating house! As a Canterbury local, I am indeed a little biased, but even as someone who regularly waxes lyrical about the many restaurants on my doorstep, I’ve raved a little more than usual when it comes to The Goods Shed. The Street Marshals are provided by Right Guard Security, and are all Security Industry Authority (SIA) accredited, and approved and vetted by Kent Police as prescribed by the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS). We scoured through the internet and read through 6reputable sites andblogslike Time Out and The Crazy Tourist.

Go down Hawk’s Lane, immediately opposite the Poor Priests Hospital, all the way to the end, left into St Margaret’s Street, and there, a few yards up on the left, is the building devoted to Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. The building is originally from the early days of cinema and has been completely redeveloped over the past decade, making it one of the most beautiful places to watch a show in Canterbury.Part of the Queens green canopy initiative, one of 70 ancient woodlands and trees as part of her Platinum Jubilee. It will target neighbourhood crime, VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) and ASB (anti-social behaviour). I was here for a ceremony so didn't get a chance to explore the building but the main sanctuary is beautiful. The Parrot is a glorious old tavern in Canterbury that features traditional pub food alongside top-shelf real ales.

So durable were these walls, with a thickness of two-and-a-half metres, that they offered stout resistance to the Viking invasions of Kent between the ninth and 11th centuries.With all the restaurants, cafes and pubs there is no shortage of food in Canterbury, and we did frequent quite a few! What’s more, Canterbury West is situated right at the north of the town, while Canterbury East is right at the south. The "continental" breakfast was excellent including yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereals, croissants, bacon baguette, tea, coffee and juice.
