About this deal

There is only 49 minutes worth of extras here, not counting the 47 minutes of musical selections, but that doesn't really count, since it's just the movie. Some use of modern music might catch some’s attention and feel a bit off but I personally found it to work. This performance is a milestone in cinematic history, and it cements Austin Butler as a force to be reckoned with in the world of acting. The film was one of summer’s better big films and nicely raked in some dollars in good continuous fashion. Biopic standards be damned, Elvis manages to rocket through that with a style, attitude and freshness that hopefully has future creators taking notes.

Also, unlike any previous biographies about Elvis, this one ended up being approved (after release) by Priscilla Presley and Lisa Marie Presley as discussed in this Entertainment Weekly article. This 4K HEVC encode knows how to balance the bitrate out nicely and helps to deliver one absolutely stunning 4K video presentation. First off, I must state that the Dolby Atmos mix here on 4K UHD Blu-ray (via physical media) packs a much stronger punch than what I heard (via streaming) on HBOMax. The story here is told from a very unique perspective with narrative all throughout from the view of Elvis’s infamous manager “Colonel Tom Parker” (portrayed here by Tom Hanks). His commitment to speaking and singing in Elvis's unique manner adds another layer of credibility to his portrayal. AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM The DC Super Hero’s Action-Packed Adventure Debuts on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on March 12th! The difference between the 4K digital and Blu-ray is quite obvious, with the contrast and brightness toning with much richer blacks and controlled highlights, plus the clarity – especially those wide shots — are more detailed. With an out-of-the-world performance from Butler and a weird, yet underwhelming role for Tom Hanks, the pacing and the film's length hinder it from being completely enjoyable.

Overall clarity is excellent, revealing pores in the actors’ faces, individual sequins in the costumes, and, unfortunately, the bad prosthetics on Hanks. Just a few weeks ago the studio unveiled a new Blu-ray series “Paramount Presents” sourced from new 4K masters for Hitchcock’s “To Catch a Thief,” (1955) starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly; the psychological thriller “Fatal Attraction” (1987); and “King Creole” with Elvis Presley, filmed just before he headed to the U.It's breathless, especially in its opening act, where time periods slip and slide across each other as Parker’s narration gets the audience up to speed with Presley, and it could so easily disorientate… but it somehow seems a perfect match for the sequin-festooned, gaudily glamorous excess of Elvis’s life that, together with its established structure of taking part in Parker’s drug-induced mind, presents Presley in almost the only way that it could. Elvis” was a 2022 biopic about the life of legendary musical entertainer and “The King” of Rock ‘n’ Roll himself, Elvis Presley. The film explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Butler), seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks). Luhrmann's way of showcasing the big events in Elvis's life from discovering music, to gospel, and playing with some of the biggest names in music like Big Mama Thorton, Little Richard, and B.
