About this deal

Una vez que conoces la historia tan diferente de las tres hermanas, no lo puedes soltar, además de que es un libro muy fácil y rápido de leer.

Although it has been designed with autistic children in mind, it is suitable for all children - ideal bedtime reading! Moving and funny, warm and wise, Cecily Wong delivers a transporting, addictive page-turner that will tempt your appetite for food and travel and change the way you imagine your place in the world.Brain Selznick’s web site is a fabulous insight into his art and story-telling, as well as his eclectic career to date. I’ve had a friend in Brian Selznick since I was the age of 9, when I discovered his awe inspiring book titled “The Invention of Hugo Cabret. Alexandra, raised in lavish wealth, marries a powerful man whose pride is his pedigree and who assumes that Alexandra is her parents' natural offspring. The highest praise I can give this book is that I wish I had this book in my life as a kid and young adult, when the unexpected death of a loved one shattered my entire world.

I have also written a few other books myself, including The Boy of a Thousand Faces, but The Invention of Hugo Cabret is by far the longest and most involved book I’ve ever worked on. Kaleidoscope is at once an examination of the precious bond between sisters as well as a vibrant story of exploration and surprising love. I do find it hard to believe, again in my limited understanding of what exactly this was supposed to do, that this is a middle grade novel. You can find out about shades, shapes, numbers, seasons, opposites and lots more, then turn the kaleidoscope wheels for further learning fun.

She previously worked with Nicola on the magnetic books Learn About Our World, Learn to Count and I Can Learn Times Tables, also published by Armadillo. A deftly written family saga that explores—and challenges—the contemporary American dream and the meaning of home and family. The character was not adequately developed by Steele and she does remain a bit distant to the reader. You just have to read a novel like this, it will touch you, make you think and at the same time entertain you. There is always a first-person narrator; there is usually a boy named James; the narrator loves James. At its core, Kaleidoscope follows a familiar pattern often found in Steel's works: a murder that sets in motion a series of events centered around loss and the unraveling of mysteries. This is described as a book of short stories, but that’s not really accurate - they are fragments or shards of a kaleidoscope, each one a new turn of the image. Kaleidoscope by Danielle Steel is undoubtedly a captivating novel that showcases the author's talent for crafting compelling stories. Although there were parts that were beautifully written, and attempted messages that had the potential to be extremely powerful, none of that potential was tapped into.

I should also note that I read this via audio -- the narrator was fantastic and the music was beautiful. The investigator follows a trail that leads from chic New York to Boston slums, from elegant Parisian salons to the Appalachian hills, to the place where the three sisters face each other and one more final, devastating truth before they can move on. The narrator’s and James’s identities are malleable from story to story, though certain themes and motifs remain consistent or reappear throughout the book: love and loss, grief and friendship; apples, gardens, butterflies, and—of course—a boy named James.but there is a truth underneath that will be defined, in part, by your own experiences of love, loss, grief, and hope. Caldecott Medalist Selznick has been creating acclaimed illustrated novels for years now, and his latest takes his groundbreaking narrative format to new heights.
