About this deal

Dorothy Koomson has always been one of my favourite authors - I have absolutely loved every single one I have read, and this one didn't disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I could not see where the story was going and I like that from a book. With very strong and expertly drawn characters I found myself invested in them all the way through, though there were some necessary distasteful ones. The Chalke History Festival announces a new name, new look, and tons for history buffs to get their teeth into!

Cleo is a successful author, but the people in her life are dying the same way as the characters in her novels are. I was absolutely delighted to learn that Dorothy Koomson, one of my top ten, or quite possibly even my top five favourite authors had written a new novel. As the reader gets to know more about modern-day Cleo, we are also taken back twenty-five years to when Cleo was a university student. Nevertheless I enjoyed it and will be reading more of her books now, starting with the one I already own. There are lots of twists and turns in this book which keep you gripped right until the very last page. Alice seems to lead a quiet life: the first three days of the week, she works in Paris and and meets with friend Philip, and his little boy, Simon. The contrast between then and now could not be starker with events of 25 years ago feeling like a romcom with the writing being light and breezy. Without giving anything away, the makers of the film ended up taking the easy way out rather than resolving this love triangle in a satisfactory manner. I really enjoyed this book, maybe it was the different perspectives and the forced breaks in between which added to the reading experience.

A unusual and thrilling tale of long kept secrets and dangerous obsession, combined with a cast of very strong characters. Every book of hers that I’ve read has always gripped me from the very 1st page and this one is no exception!

I wasn't expecting to get so emotionally involved with the characters, and i have to admit that the last chapter (before the epilogue) literally had me in tears. Like the other Dorothy Koomson novels I’ve read ( The Brighton Mermaid and I Know What You’ve Done), My Other Husband is mainly set in Brighton where the author lives. I didn’t know what to expect from this book, I really had no clue what would happen and how it would end. Rating: Thank you to the publishers for a free advanced copy and the goodies in the photo below in exchange for an honest review.Calendar arrived safely in plastic-free packaging - which I've not seen before with a calendar, so kudos for that.

The many time changes and the different points of view made this difficult to follow at times as I found myself flicking back a few pages to check when the previous chapter was set.Hanging out with her best friend Trina and trying to persuade geeky Heath that she doesn’t fancy him. This was so close to being a five-star read for me but the only thing that made me drop half a star was because of how the story ended.
