He gets mistaken for a real hamburger and decides he should eat vegetables and fruit instead of just hamburgers. In all honesty, I would determine whether or not to include this book in my classroom year by year after getting to know my students.

Children are able to make the link between eating too much of something and having the responsibility over their own body. This book would be good in a classroom to teach that eating healthy is important but with a fun twist. And the slow transformations from boy to food and back again, is a wonderful example of a talented artist. My wife and i always tell our children, if we eat too much pizza you'll turn into one, and thats precisely what happens here only with hamburgers. This book can be tied with a lesson on eating a balanced diet (health lesson), but other than that, this would just be a fun story to read to young kids.Since graduating from Kingston College of Art in 2004 Mei Matsuoka has been in much demand as an illustrator.

If you enjoy meeting new people and creating memorable experiences, consider a new career opportunity with Burger Boy of San Antonio! However, there is a part in the story where the illustrations show the burger boy crying as a large kitchen knife looms above his head, this led my 3 year old to having nightmares about being chopped up. After quicklybecoming the talk of the town, we couldn’t keep up with demand on the trailer, we decidedto move into a local pubs kitchen to operate from there doing takeaways and table service.A boy who eats nothing but burgers - I can relate - soon turns into one, and has the whole town chasing after him. I was a big fan of The Narnia books by C S Lewis, Michael Hardcastle’s football stories and Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series My favourite books of all were a Mannchester United Football Year Book from 1969 signed “To Alan from George Best” (my all-time hero) and Meriol Trevor's The King of the Castle that I came across quite by chance looking along a library shelf one day. Benny ran away from hungry animals and people as he tried to convince them that he was a boy, and wasn't a burger. At the end of the story, the kid gives up hamburgers for good after spending a day as a "Burger Boy.

And that is just the start of a madcap chase in which the hapless Benny is pursued across the countryside by a mob of hungry dogs, boys and angry cows. We offer competitive pay, employee benefits, and, as a member of our Burger Boy family, you’ll work alongside a team of friendly faces that go above and beyond in providing excellent food and service to all of our guests. This book is very relatable to both children and adults as it expresses views of both parents and child.
