I had a rough patch during my teens around 13-14, I was sneaking out in the night chasing men older than me and getting suspending for drinking in math class…. Light, uplifting, and brings to mind a woman in love, walking around with her head in the clouds, late spring, when everything is in full bloom.

This would be a signature for me but it belongs to my mom and the association is proving too strong to make it my own. Out of all the notes listed I get Jasmine,Tuberose, Mimosa, Gardenia and Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood and some peach. Often, misunderstood, Amarige is liberally applied, much to the discomfort of all that come in contact with saturated percussive florals and booming woods. When I finally had my own bottle, it smelled just as I remember, despite any reformulations I’m not aware of. It’s a mildly controversial scent to whip out, some people think it’s a brave notion to make this your signature scent.The Brazilian Rosewood and the peach, plum, berries and violet are also prominent in this fragrance but never make the white and yellow florals take a back seat. I am getting it, I thought, all I had to do is give it time and experience to my nose, of something so complex it’s startling at first and second try.

There's something about it that feels almost masculine, with this intense dissonant creamy green thing in the background.It’s sweet and fresh and real, not like synthetic florals but as if I’ve just stuck my head into some real life Tuberose flowers… and then the peach! I understand the reasons that it appeals to people, so to be fair, I rated as a dislike rather than hate. Also Amarige reminds me of morning dew, a field full with flowers blooming in the early morning hours, with raindrops from the day or night before on their petals. Top notes are Orange Blossom, Peach, Plum, Neroli, Brazilian Rosewood, Mandarin Orange and Violet; middle notes are Tuberose, Mimosa, Gardenia, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Black locust, Carnation, Red Berries, Black Currant, Cassia, Rose and Orchid; base notes are Sandalwood, Woody Notes, Vanilla, Amber, Tonka Bean, Musk and Cedar.
