About this deal

This book has had me up late night reading and knackered for work but I tell you what it was worth it. Jamie added: “I grew up in Middlesbrough and heard of Lee Duffy when I was eight and he died when I was 11. Lee’s later behaviour was the inevitable result of the completely inhuman treatment he experienced as a child.

Having said all that the book is amazing the end was horrible to read but not surprising in the least. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. This is the true story of the Taxmen of Teesside, the only book with input from members of the Duffy family. I do think Jamie seems a cool bloke and yes he is obsessed with Duffy and does glamorize him and make excuses for his often disgusting bullying behaviour, in fairness duffy is a fascinating character who's legacy has been built up probly way more than it deserves, I'd say he got beat many of times in a fair fight that we haven't heard of, but there is no doubt he was an absolute lunatic, the whole bullying thing is a cop out and all nonsense in my opinion, he had something wrong with him and by all accounts just thrived on violence and carnage he just loved hurting people to gain his reputation and install fear in everyone.

He is the author of several successful true crime books, many of which have been serialised in the national press. Everyone knew Lee's existence on this planet would be brief, but the news Teesside was waking up to that gloriously sun. I only had a vague knowledge of him gleaned through other books were he was mentioned and it felt as though the author assumed the reader would have deeper knowledge of Lee Duffy .

I like the fact that jamie has put alot of hard into making sure there's no bullshit in this book and that the people he interviewed were people who knew him the closest, lees family , work mates , friends and enemies are in this book and I feel that this was the only way you could get a full picture of who lee was and how he lived I only hope now they make a movie about this young lad from Teesside who was just a kid and done so much in his short 26 years. Every precious dream and vision - Underneath the stars, yes, you climbed on the ladder, With the wind in your sails. Prior to Lee Duffy’s death at the age of 26 he had survived three alleged attempts on his life; having been shot twice and once having had petrol poured over him. When he died he was stabbed in his armpit and bled to death on the streets of Middlesbrough with hundreds of people watching.Primark delights Newcastle Friends fans in Friendsfest week; New range of Friends homeware and nightwear on sale in Newcastle, Gateshead and.
