About this deal

A nice PSHE circle time activity may be to bring in their favourite toy and share memories with the class. For Art Prints please allow 5 working days for unframed prints and 15 working days for framed prints/ stretched canvas.

I personally would use it as a topic book for whole class use, and perhaps be able to use it within guided reading for the lower ability groups to take a closer look and discuss it further. YOu ccould use the story for inspiration to create a Toy Fact File using one of the characters from this EYFS/KS1 picture book. Sophie and Juliette both loved pointing things out in the pictures, even after reading the book several times. It also is a good book to look at character development in literacy and what toy would a child pick to come to life and what would their personality be. Shortly after graduating from The Royal College of Art, he illustrated a picture book by Ted Hughes and began writing picture book stories of his own. The children can make toys based on some of the characters in the book and help them recreate the stories and even build new ones.

David Lucas is the internationally acclaimed author/illustrator of Peanut, The Lying Carpet, Halibut Jackson, Whale, Nutmeg and The Robot and the Blue Bird. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. You've probably heard of, or maybe even watched, the film Night At The Museum, starring (amongst others) Ben Stiller, Robin Williams and Dick Van Dyke, which told the story of a poor museum guard trying to keep control of a whole host of museum exhibits that come to life at night-time. One day Halibut Jackson receives an invitation from the Queen to a party at the palace and starts work on his most ambitious outfit yet, a bejewelled suit of silver and gold, which he thinks will go unnoticed amid the splendours of the palace. The children will explore the box and make simple sentences to describe some of the toys inside the box. In this magical adventure story the reader is given a glimpse of the 'what-if' world as the adventures of Bunting and his fellow friends at the toy museum through the typical childhood game of 'Hide-and-Seek' is played out in the book. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. The children have fully immersed themselves in the story linking to aspects of our trip to Abbey House Museum.
