Reading this was an odd experience for me. I've been reading some of the other current wolf series written by Avery Song when I saw this book coming up, with the blurb starting this is a modified re-release of a book, which did have a familiar name for me but I couldn't remember if I'd read it before. There are some problems with the players: Cara’s wolf is too tragic a character and when it is time for her wolf to come to the fore as a heroine in her own right (unfortunately, not in this book), her potential for recovery is not believable. The hero, Knox, appears to be well-intentioned but causing fractured wolves even more pain – physically now as well as emotionally – is neither a good nor believable plot line.

We saw the most of Ian, but we did get to see some of the other shifters. I loved Ian, but I am really hoping that we get to see a lot more of them in the next book. (I think we will!)
Wolf Tamer is truly amazing! Avery has away of creating a world where you fall in love with the characters and are drawn into the story that is full of magic, mystery, suspense and betrayal. The wolf is chasing after a skeleton. This can lead to wolves standing and jumping in one place, such as over a cavern if a skeleton is near. The wolf teleports once the skeleton is killed. This new adult urban fantasy features sass, cinnamon rolls, and slow burn romance. It is NOT reverse harem.
You can also enhance this weapon with a Garmoth’s Heart to make it a Fiery weapon with extra stats. Harper is also annoying AF, which is unfortunate since the book is mostly told from her first-person POV. For most of the book she's 21-ish, and she is so incredibly full of herself it's not even funny. I love confident female characters. But this went way beyond confidence into sheer arrogance and I really just wanted to slap her. Ian is just there for muscles and sex. He has the personality of a two by four. Wolves can be told to "sit" by pressing use on them and made to stand again with another press of use.

I wasn’t prepared for a few scenes based off what Lola has said explicitly as an author about not writing abuse into a relationship, but as someone who’s suffered abuse I believe this story incorporated domestic violence scenes (in that there’s abuse, of power, emotional and physical in this sense and many other elements of an abusive relationship, in what’s suppose to be a safe place) which I don’t think was the authors intention but it’s very much written that way. Since then, I've become a Wolf Tamer; the only one who can get close to touching the six rare breeds. When I'm with them, I feel safe and sometimes wish I could be like one of them and escape this cruel world.One thing worth mentioning, though: I've never read a shifter book where the people were this separate from their animals. Like, Cara and her wolf were fully separate entities who disagreed on a lot of stuff, and honestly didn't seem to get along much in this book. And also, Cara's wolf is an asshole. That's what made this particularly hard to process. She was a weak, pathetic, selfish wolf who forced some TERRIBLE choices on Cara by seizing control. It was even worse because once the consequences of her shitty actions were clear, the stupid wolf withdrew entirely and left Cara to deal with the horror. So that's why I say her wolf is a stupid, selfish asshole... and incredibly weak. That was another thing that was weird - I don't know that I've ever read a shifter book where the wolves aren't protective of their humans. With WoTLK Classic, each specific pet family has it's own unique talent tree. As mentioned earlier these talent trees are focused around different scenarios such as pure dps, utility and mobility, and solo questing or pvp. The story is female lead POV only, though the epilogue is male lead only. I prefer dual POV. The story is well written, the interplay is electric, and I was deeply engaged emotionally with the characters. Which is why I was infuriated when it ended unresolved. I suppose I’m waiting impatiently for the next one.
