About this deal

Step 4. Join two pieces of 20mm irrigation pipe using an elbow full-flow fitting. This pipe will ultimately connect to the pump and allow water to flow through the bamboo feature. Make sure that there is excess piping (600 to 800mm) protruding from the bottom of the vertical pole to connect to the pump.

The resin is finished to look like real bamboo. The design is so realistic that most people won’t be able to tell it’s not bamboo.Unless you’re very fortunate, if you want a stream or creek in your garden, you’ll have to build it yourself. That won’t affect the final result though, which is complete serenity. For your stream to have a current you’ll need some way of circulating the water, but even that can be aesthetically pleasing (as this photo shows). Step 3. Mark the position for the spout on the vertical bamboo pole and, using a hole-saw bit, drill a hole slightly bigger than the diameter of the spout. The spout needs to be tilted slightly downwards once fitted into the vertical pole. If necessary, use a file to shape the hole. Bamboo is naturally durable but here are two tips to help it last even longer. After the project’s completed and tested, let it dry and coat all the surfaces with a clear, exterior oil-based sealer. (Run the fountain a few days and change the water before placing any water plants.) And if you live in a cold climate, store the sluice sections out of the weather during the winter. Bamboo's organic nature may bring some trouble to your peaceful spot. As it is susceptible to weathering and deterioration over time, your feature may require some maintenance to prevent rot and breakage. Water circulation systems, in general, may require occasional cleaning to prevent any clogs. But, your feature should be fine.

The cascade of water creates a nice relaxing sound effect. If you don’t want a fountain where water falls into a bowl of water – like the Bamboo Accents one above – The Design Toscano fountain is a good alternative. For us, we love the striking versatility of the Cascading Waterfall Feature from Oasis. Purely made from bamboo, this will provide a relaxing getaway in your garden. Plus, you can choose between mains or solar power. Shishi-Odoshi buyer’s guide Whatever space you have outside, the water feature must be big enough not to be swamped by surrounding plants and hard-landscaping. Make sure you choose a pump with enough power to enable a good flow of water and this will help you help you achieve a significant focal point. Skimping on this is not advised! Easy setup: Choose a water feature that is simple to assemble and set up. Clear instructions and minimal components will save you time and frustration. For this, opt for a kit with all the trimmings. So, in terms of aesthetics, it doesn’t matter which you go for. Both real and faux bamboo water features have a beautiful rustic look. It may look like bamboo but there’s a good chance it’s not real bamboo. Some Japanese water features use faux bamboo made from polymer resin. We have some beautiful Granite Water Features in traditional and modern designs, together with an impressive range of Carved Buddhas and Monks. It consists of half a dozen vertical bamboo-like pieces tied together. Spouts cascade water from one piece to the next.

A bamboo water fountain, a deer-carer, has a few benefits, encompassing both aesthetic charm and relaxation in your picturesque spot. It makes a serene addition to any space – indoor or outdoor – by producing rhythmic water sounds through the gentle striking of bamboo against stone. Soothing… Quality material: Choose bamboo enhanced with UV and weather resistance. Ensure the basin is also sturdy and able to withstand outdoor conditions. Bamboo doesn’t last forever, though.Once your reservoir sits level, you're done digging for now. But don't put the spade away just yet, unless you have an auger. Its simplicity makes it super easy to install. It also makes it very versatile – you can set it up on any bowl of any size. Find a good-looking bowl. Most water features will work with a bowl of any size but it has to be large enough to hold enough water to submerge the pump. Porcelain or ceramic bowls look really nice and make a relaxing sound when water hits them. A steel or iron decorative bowl also works great.

As well as aesthetics, bamboo fountains can fit with most décor and garden styles, versatile enough to take on any patio or lawn. Plus, maintenance isn’t much of a hassle once you get it going, due to the self-contained water circulation systems. Minimal upkeep, minimal stress. How does that sound? Remember to keep on top of the debris and look out for the bamboo's condition.Installation and Maintenance: Some water features require professional installation, while others are easily set up independently. Consider the level of maintenance needed to keep your water feature clean and functioning smoothly. Join our #10greenminutes campaign
