About this deal

I enter an area of sensory-impressive luxury in the scent of spices, precious balsamic oils, smoky resins and embracing warmth. Flemish artists render the amber shades exceptionally well, hence two still lifes to accompany today’s post. The first one is by Osias Beert The Elder (1580 – 1623/24). The second is by Peter Boel (1622-1674).

Ambre Sultan is a very perfumey, very herbal amber. It's a touch honeyed and more than a touch doughy, with its sweetness balanced by the medicinal tones of bay leaf (which is almost overdosed here, giving Ambre Sultan its "signature") and oregano. If the combination of bay leaf and oregano does not sound appealing to you, then stay away from this one.In my recent article about the best niche perfume brands, Serge Lutens ended up taking fifth place above such as Frederic Malle, Nishane, Xerjoff, and others. Serge Lutens History Without these two, the senses flattering fragrance beings, but every Oriental would only be a shadow of its former self. A complex composition that doesn't need to hide. I think vanilla at the base is a good choice. I don't take it as such, but the fragrance remains pleasantly soft despite the spice and resin charge and almost a little creamy towards the end. Serge Lutens hasn't really warmed me up yet. Many of his creations are somehow too floral-heavy for me. Fortunately, this is by no means the case with all of his fragrances.

I’m yet to receive a compliment or a comment of any kind regarding this one, and this is understandable. It is not one of those easy-to-wear designers or niche perfumes. Living in a Mediterranean country and being surrounded by those aromatic herbs which are often used in meals in this part of the world reminded me of the Dalmatian coast but without the signature pine tree scents which also grow there. The Limited Edition comes with a new bottle design, but the notes and everything else remains the same base on the other consumers who have tried it. The same applies here since it comes in the same presentation as with other Serge Lutens fragrances.

Ambre sultan Eau de Parfum is not animalic, but he has this fresh, incredibly exciting note, which some here in the forum with the fur of a cat describe. What are your thoughts about Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan ? Have you tried it? Do you like it?Let’s start a conversation and let me know in the comment section below. Tom Ford Amber Absolute – an amber fragrance released in 2007. The main notes include amber, incense, and vanilla. The lasting power is 24+ hours with great projection. Upon the first spray, I knew this was something special, just as was my experience with Chergui. Equally enticing, and somewhat scary, with each new wearing, Ambre Sultan unfold itself more and eventually, told me the whole story. The well-known story of Serge Lutens finding a wooden box containing amber wax in Marrakech starts to unfold here. The only mentioned woody note in the fragrance is sandalwood, but it ain’t that.
