About this deal

Part of the reason they’re going to be squeezed for places in premium builds is, of course… Kill Rig Kannon • Lobba • Zzap Gun • Kustom Mega-Kannon • Smasha Gun • Bubblechukka • Traktor Kannon • Killkannon • Supa-Kannon • Big Lobba • Soopa Gun • Supa-Zzap-Gun • Squig Katapult • Pulsa Rokkit • Grot Bomb Launcha The Nob is a little less outrageously pushed, costing you nearly as much as a minimum squad of the cavalry by himself, so while the mortals on charge are cool you’ll probably see less of these on tournament tables. They seem like great fun to use though, so a real boon for casual play. Warbikes

Bosses! Do you like herohammer? Did you feel that Orks were unreasonably disappointing on that front in 8th? Well good news – Orks can now build some of the nastiest killas out there, as it should be!As we’ve done before for team events, rather than looking at each list in isolation I’m going to run through the compositions of the top two teams and talk about what role they’re likely intended to play, and to highlight choices that differ from what you’d expect in singles play. Some weapons have ‘Blast’ listed in their profile’s abilities. These are referred to as Blast weapons. In addition to the normal rules, the following rules apply to Blast weapons: The wheels are surprisingly un-orkish, so no work on them necessary. The anti-roll bar is added to the cage over the driver. As expected, anything with the WARBOSS keyword, which comprises Warbosses, Deffkilla Wartrikes, Beastbosses (foot and mounted), and some of the Named Characters are now one per detachment – this is in line with every other codex. Orks are now Toughness 5 For Customer Support with Orks, please go outside and scream into the sky, shaking your fist if possible. Gork, or possibly Mork, should respond within 24 hours.

This book definitely looks to support some Vehicle-heavy builds, and there’s likely to be some real competition between Sunz and Deathskulls as to where they end up – the former gives you speed, the latter reliability. It’s also possible you’ll mix up both – the power of Deathskulls is more concentrated in their Kultur than the wider options, so an army with a Sunz Warlord and a Deathskulls add-on detachment seems moderately plausible. Goffs Julio Piñero – Drukhari: Extra shooty Drukhari, with some Ravagers joining Cronos. That creates something that will utterly dominate slower builds, and maybe has a better shot into some of the lists people will throw out to try and beat Drukhari (extra lances are very welcome into Redemptors, for example).Detail the squigs launched by the Squigbuggy with Wazdakka Red. Add highlights with Wild Rider Red and apply a wash of Carroburg Crimson to enhance the depth and bring out their menacing nature. The Squigbuggy is a medium sized vehicle, very close to the outline of the Kustom Boost-blasta and Shokkjump Dragsta. at the end of the battle round if you melee-d more units to death than you had melee-d to death, with a bonus 1VP if you doubled-up on their count. No, Gretchin don’t count. We fired them all, because they kept getting stomped.

A large Ork balances precariously by the pen, stuffing a squig into the heavy squig launcher he’s wrestling into position. Below the flatbed are 2 fuel tanks – not especially well protected from impact – and a set of saw blades either side, perfect for shredding tyres and enemies. Overall, I think this book succeeds on the metric of ensuring that Orks feel right, plus on giving players lots of fun ways to use their favourite kits, but I am skeptical that it has managed to dodge the recent curse of unleashing meta-smashing monstrosities on the tournament world. I suspect the lag time on them appearing is going to be longer than it was for Drukhari or AdMech, because the builds that appear to be the most potent require substantial numbers of complex new kits, and also lots of fiddly to paint units like buggies. I will, as ever, be casting an eye across the tournament scene as things develop. Army Lists These are, bluntly, outrageous powerhouses that should form a part of many successful lists. They’re all substantially better on both the offence and defence, mostly got cheaper, and some were already seriously playable units! Good stuff. Squighog Cavalry Editor’s Note: After publishing this article we have received multiple comments to the effect that a player wearing clearly identifiable neo-nazi iconography participated in the Talavera event, and was not removed despite complaints from other players. We would like to unequivocally state that turning up to an event wearing such iconography should be grounds for immediate disqualification, and the TOs should have taken action in this case. This does not affect any of the players covered in this article, but we would not have covered this event had we known about this ahead of time. Eduardo Cortell – Adeptus Mechanicus: You knew it was going to be in here somewhere. Lucius/Mars with lots of Skitarii in the Lucius half and lots of Ironstriders in the other, though only Fusilaves rather than Stratoraptors. From the choice to put the Fusilaves in the Mars detachment (letting them double up on durability buffs) my best read on why no Stratos is that it makes it harder to spike the list with a heavy alpha strike build, as more of its threats can be hidden. In addition to Skragbad, all the Named Characters you’d expect return, and they’re joined by another new Snakebite special in the form of Zodgrod Wortsnagga. He’s essentially an extremely pumped up Runtherd, and is one of the units that can be taken in any detachment, so is another decent way to fill a battalion alongside a Warboss. For the first time in recent memory we had an actual quiet weekend on the competitive front across most of the world, with only a single GT sized event firing (our friends at FactoruM running their latest monthly event). As we covered last week, the metagame isn’t in the most edifying of states right now, and Freebooterz cheerfully ran wild over this sole singles event, so while we will do the normal rundown of it later in the article, it’s time once more for a team week, because Spain made up for how quiet everywhere else with a spectacularly huge team tournament featuring just under 700 players. That’s some exciting stuff, so lets dive in and take a look!
