About this deal

The great thing about this scheme is that if I need to paint a lot of models fast, as you often do with Tyranids, then they look great and ‘Battle Ready’ at just the Contrast paint stage and I can add the highlights later. Out of all these tests, I liked the Leadbelcher set the most. It seemed to me to be a richer color than the other two. But, I wasn't happy to leave it there. I wondered what would happen if I painted all three onto one gem in the same way the "old school" gems were painted, with a dark upper section, gradually lighter at the bottom with a highlight in the bottom corner. Gradually mix in steadily more Evil Sunz Scarlet and layer up each time until it’s nearly pure Evil Sunz Scarlet, gradually getting further and further from the recesses I hope my recommendations help you to improve your hobby and take your painting skills to the next level. A lot comes down to personal preference, but the spray paints and primers above have served me excellently over the last few years.

I have had a great deal of fun experimenting with using various real-world colour schemes that can be found in nature for my Tyranids. I’ve so far attempted schemes based on the following: So, what do I think about these? I do like them, there are a few issues with them compared to the old way of doing things though. I'm currently using GW Citadel metallic paints but they're running low and I need to re-up. I'm thinking of switching to the newer metallic paints. And that’s it! It took me about forty minutes to do these three barricades. Honestly, waiting for things to dry is the longest part, so a hairdryer could maybe speed this up further. Great results for time invested! This stuff is amazing, it shines like actual metal, because it actually is metal. However, there’s some things you need to know about using it. Firstly, it’s metal and metal rusts. If you use water to dilute this, or clean your brushes your models and paint will rust, and not in a cool weathering way. So you have to use alcohol to thin and clean your brushes. I used very high proof Isopropyl. Secondly, if you start using your nice sable brushes you will destroy them, you want to use synthetic brushes otherwise they’ll end up in the bin.

Second, the mattness. The more matte the primer, the better the paint will adhere on your Warhammer miniature. A matt surface is rough on a microscopic level, which gives acrylic paint more grip. If, on the other hand, the primer is too glossy, paint adheres less well and you need to apply more coats for an opaque result, and thin paints such as washes / Shade paints or Contrast paints can even drip off. The gloss is a disadvantage of many metallic spray paints, and the only thing you can do about it is to paint over with a thin layer of a matching metallic paint or a matt/satin varnish. On the battlefield, Stormcast Eternals strike like lightning, and fight like heroes of legend from old myths and songs. As beings literally made for battle, they fight with precision and ferocity in a variety of roles with a variety of armaments. When not on the battlefield, the Stormcast Eternals reside in the Stormkeeps, massive fortresses that defend Sigmar’s most important territories and holdings. Where to Read More I do this for a darker, richer gold than the Liberator Gold based recipe. There is nothing wrong with turning out Liberator Gold -> Agrax Wash -> Liberator Gold Drybrush -> Auric Gold Drybrush for a very bright gold, but I wanted a deeper gold. When Dominion dropped earlier this year, I was hype as hell for the new range of Stormcast. In place of the big fat babymen of AoS’ launch, we had these statuesque spearmen, chariots, and big honkin angel ladies. These models screamed “Ancient Greece” to me, and not just because I’m going through a Greekaboo phase with Goonhammer favorite Hades and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. I also wanted to get away from the typical blue and gold of the Hammers of Sigmar to really make this army my own.The short answer is that metallic paints have evolved from the original mica based formula, and Citadel’s White Cap paints are a new formulation of fine metallic powder and pigments that are designed for brush painting, not airbrushing. The gold in the video above is Balthasar Gold -> Druchi Violet wash -> Drybrush Balthasar Gold -> Drybrush Sycorax Bronze. Mix in a little more Cadian Fleshtone and layer up again, concentrating on raised areas where light would hit Tyler Mengel is here with a new guide to making models look great easily, and he’s turned his attention from the Mortal Realms to the far future – specifically the aeons-old warriors of the Necrons. Take it away, Tyler.
