About this deal

Rubber feet are available code 2607F which fit the 1215K, 1315XVE, 1315Longarm, 1222G, 1322Extended. Two rubber feet are included in the 22mm versions. The rubber feet also fit the Monument 15mm/22mm combi bender 2600K. Buy the Monument Bender Single Sized – 1215K-XV 1315- XVE (1315Longarm-XVL) 1222G-XXII 1322Extended-XXIIE The Monument Masters 1215K-XV, 1315-XVE, 1315Longarm-XVL , 1222G-XXII and 1322Extended-XXIIE create similar bend radiuses to a Monument 2600K combi bender; in fact the 1222G has a slightly tighter radius that the 2600K combi bender, as this radius is tighter it creates a slightly different profile on the outside of the bend when compared to a combi. But when it comes to buying new ones, I guess it’s Silverline that stands out as the biggest contender to Hilmor. We have also designed bending arm extension handles to increase the leverage for bending both 15mm 22mm copper pipe. These short threaded extension handles code 1224M fit both the 15mm XV XVE & XVL and 22mm XXII versions. One or more extension handles can be added for additional leverage.

The single sizes of each bender with their shorter bending arms and lightweight aluminium die casting makes each bender lighter to carry and the design of the 15mm-XV is small enough to fit inside a toolbag. Overall, the pipe bender works very well for the 4mm diameter pipe that I have tried it on, but the radius of the bends it makes is around 12.5mm. The 15mm 22mm pipe bender or tube bender is an essential part of the toolkit for any heating or plumbing engineer. Place the Lever Arm over the positioned pipe and place the Lever Hook onto the Pivot Pins, ensure the Nylon Guide is seated. If you’re working with microbore, unfortunately, there isn’t a set from Hilmore currently available in the UK.XV is much smaller than a combi; arm length is 40cm compared to a combi arm length of 65cm. Note the 15mm XVL & 22mm XXII arm lengths are about 60cm Before you remove the pipe from the Former, view your bend angle; remove the pipe if it is correct, or if necessary, reapply the Lever Arm and increase the bend angle. Frequently Asked Questions FAQs

So, why do we use the Hilmore GLM tube benders, when there’s quite obviously others around the same price, and even more on offer for much less. Some years ago I made a pipe bender for small copper tube as I just could not buy one for small diameter pipe. A. Over the years been a few reasons, main reason I find or is poor quality copper! Other reason dirt on the guides generally a good clean and oil or dw40 sorts it out, had once with bender that had been dropped and it was slightly twisted (Answered by B H heating solutions on 26 Jan 2021)Thanks for reading our 5-minute review of the best copper pipe benders for plumbers and heating engineers. lighter in the hand than a combi. The Monument combi weighs more than 4kg; the XV weighs 1.5kg; the XXII weighs 2.3kg Copper isn’t cheap so that’s money right there, going to waste. More importantly, it’s wasting time.

The Monument 2600K 15mm and 22mm is a best selling pipe bender. These are available in Monument brand widely available across the UK from plumbers merchants and e-tailers MON2600 2600K, Instinct® brand INST2600 from PHG independent plumbers merchants and also from UKPS plumbers merchants including Plumbase under Entity® brand ENT2600. When initially launched on the UK market Monument ensured that the hook stop was redesigned so as to not mark the pipe. A. Cheap thin copper but even expensive copper ripples. But makes a big difference with running wire wool over the guides first. Keep them clean. Found the wee monument benders don’t ripple the pipe as much. Great wee benders (Answered by Roy Millar Plumbing and Heating on 26 Jan 2021) Problem? We’ve creased pipes (and had to junk that section) using cheap pipe benders multiple times. A. Cheap thin wall copper doesn’t help the issue, there was a batch a few years ago that was actually snapping. Damaged formers or the guide on bender itself can also do it. Or guides, formers that are not clean (Answered by PG Plumbing on 26 Jan 2021) We have included bending angles of 30 45 60 and 90 degrees on the XV and XVL 15mm versions and an additional 75 degree angle on the 22mm version; these are easily visible on the Former of each bender.

Tooltalk Reviews

There are some benders specifically suited to smaller pipe (8mm/10mm for instance), and we’ll cover those later. However, as microbore is notoriously weak, it’s not like you need anything heavy duty. #2 – Monument Mini Pipe Benders If you’ve not used copper pipe benders before, you’ve probably never creased a pipe. It goes without saying creasing affecting the integrity of the pipe long term, and that’s a big no-no. If you’re installing a whole run of heating/gas pipe, swapping out the guides is going to turn into a real bug-bear.

The price differential between Hilmor compared with Stanley and Rothenberger is just too small, and Hilmor offer so much more in terms of quality. Usually, a lightweight product is a good thing. Take a cordless impact driver for instance. The lighter, the better. less fiddly– with the integrated hook and nylon guide, your hook stop won’t flop from side to side and the guide(s) won’t fall out A. If your pipe is thin walled and your equipment is not clean (Answered by Colin Stainer Plumbing & Heating on 27 Jan 2021)

better sight lines– as the bend is in the same plane as the Arms of the bender it is easier to line up by eye They weigh under 500g, and that’s pretty-lightweight, but they certainly provide more than enough power to get the job done.
