No Selene - I get that this will be a controversial one for a lot of people, but the author hasn't sold me on Selene as a character, nor her relationship with Will. So many other characters in this series have more agency than her and have more chemistry with the protagonist. Her not being around much in this novel is a big boon in my mind. Impale - The caster summons a spike of ice from the ground and up towards an approaching enemy with extreme force, impaling them upon it. Extreme accuracy required.

Of course, I knew mere words and dreams would not take me to my goal, so I decided to do everything it took to guarantee my ideal future. Constrict - Creates a prison of air that solidifies around the subject and stops them from moving, but allows breathing. White colors were lifting off of me, and I began to feel a warm aura envelop me. My stomach felt hot, and my body was in an excited state… ready to change forever.

But I must say, I'am really not getting the motivation for the whole hero/savior routine of the MC in this particular story. I mean, ok so his Fey aunt gets kidnaped and suddenly he is all crazy about saving her.. why the hell is that? Thanks to the Basic Spell’s short cast time, Zakiel made it. He carried everyone on his mana platform and as soon as they were placed at a safe distance away from the Shadow Demon who merely watched, the mage boosted himself using Basic Wind Magic and flung his body into battle. It's amazing how he just keeps caring for people who have nothing to do with him. Anyway I won't say thats bad writing since too many books portray some morally "perfect" hero. It really gets to me whenever he kills someone, TO SAVE SOMEONE, and they glare at him accusingly like "you killed him without hesitating!", whoever does that stare is already a poor written character. Fk this author rubs in me in all the wrong ways, this book is just not for me. Steadily and surprisingly these books just keep improving. I always think I've figured out Michael's writing, then it just blows up every book with something else amazing. Scholar of Magic has made me laugh out loud the most in a while when reading. Literally screaming with delight and hilarity and awkwardness at all the different myriad of crazy adventures Will gets up to. Air Rope: Used to bind as a real rope would. Hands, feet, or full body, can also be used to abseil, or do anything a normal rope would.Blood Theft - The mage can use the blood of an enemy killed by physical damage by him or her or close to him or her to cast a spell by bloodmagic.
