About this deal

To complement the ale, project executive chef Sang Nguyen has created three new limited-edition food dishes with a royal twist that will be available at selected Shepherd Neame pubs across the Coronation weekend. Boasting a new recipe, crafted specifically to celebrate the historical occasion, Silent Pool’s Coronation Gin has been made using infusions of King Charles’ favourite Surrey botanicals, plants and flowers, with gentle notes of bergamot orange, complemented by elegant floral notes from rose petals, lavender and chamomile. No coronation parties will be complete without it. Why would you toast the new King’s health with French Champagne when you can raise a glass of 100% British cider?” Distilled at The City of London Distillery, the first and only gin distillery in the heart of London for more than 200 years, Whitley Neill Connoisseur’s Cut Gin is a classic London Dry expression that sits at 47% ABV, letting the rich juniper and citrus notes shine through. The whisky is housed in a Dartington Crystal decanter, tinted in a deep sapphire blue hue, reminiscent of the precious stones set within the Imperial State Crown. In keeping with Royal Salute’s signature style, the decanter is presented in a wooden box inspired by the iconic Westminster Abbey, with details intricately chiselled into the wood, paying tribute to the historic setting of British Coronation ceremonies since 1066.

Now, to mark his coronation, The English has unveiled the latest bottling in its Royal range. The Royal range is bottled only on the birth, marriage, coronation or jubilee of those in direct line to the throne. These are rare events that the distillery believes should be celebrated, making the resulting collection of whiskies well worth owning and drinking. Silent Pool’s 43% ABV Coronation Gin also uses dried plum and raspberry leaves to infuse the gin, leaving lingering fruity notes. Finally, Earl Grey tea and tangy hawthorn berries deepen the palette. Four Sis4ers Distillery in Salford has launched a limited-edition fruit-waste strawberry gin to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. It comes from a specially selected shaved, toasted, and re-charred ex-red wine cask, which offers a rich and intense maturation to the fruity new make spirit, boasting strong notes of toffee, chocolate, and red fruits, as well as a deep colour. Shepherd Neame chief executive Jonathan Neame said: “We are delighted to mark this historic occasion, the Coronation of King Charles III, with a special beer. We hope that our customers will enjoy raising a glass to toast such a special occasion.”The beer is said to have light caramel notes and a deep golden hue with east Kent Goldings hops adding a spiciness to the citrus and fruit aromas, rounded out with subtle bitterness from a generous hopping of Kentish Challenger. The wine is claimed to be a classic blend of the finest parcels of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier from Kent. This complex sparkling wine has been aged on lees for five and a half years before its release now. Described by head winemaker Josh Donaghay-Spire as displaying “complex aromas of ripe apple, fresh red berries and toasted brioche”, this wine is “perfect for grand celebrations”. I tried them neat, and with plain tonic water, as the addition of this opens up the aromas and botanical notes. Overall, it was a very pleasant tasting. I can say with certainty that there are decent gins out there at this lower price point that I would be very happy to drink and share around – or mix with Dubonnet to make the Queen's favourite tipple. Heavy is the head that wears the crown, but what about the head that drinks from it? To celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime occasion, luxury Swedish vodka brand Absolut Elyx has partnered with the Nomad hotel in London to create a limited edition copper crown cup. But if mixology isn’t your thing, then please don’t worry, the flavours of our gins speak for themselves. Perfect to pair with premium Classic mixers and a fruit garnish, from Indian Tonic, lemonade or just a light and refreshing soda water, our gins are expertly crafted to bring out the best flavours from around the world.

It doesn’t get much more British than a Bank Holiday weekend enjoying a classic British dessert, unless, of course, that dessert comes in the form of a gin liqueur. Salford’s Four Sis4ers Distillery has launched a limited edition fruit-waste strawberry gin to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, called Wonky Windsor. This pink gin is made with the fruits of ‘wonky’ British strawberries. It has been distilled in the distillery’s Arnold Holstein copper still, and inspired by King Charles’ love of the environment and passion for sustainability.

The team at the artisan spirit producer in Stratford-upon-Avon has crafted a completely new dry gin that has taken inspiration from the gin and dubonnet beloved by the late Queen and Queen Mother. A blend of more than 53 rare malt and grain whiskies, the Royal Salute Coronation of King Charles III Edition is a rich and complex expression with notes of fresh redcurrants, dark chocolate praline, and freshly roasted chestnuts, and a palate of sweet figs and fresh ginger leading up to a long and rich finish with a playful spice. Wonky Windsor is a 37.5% ABV pink gin made with the fruits of cast off ‘wonky’ British strawberries. Distilled slowly in the business’s Arnold Holstein copper still, this spirit is inspired by King Charles’ love of the environment and passion for sustainability. Those who get their hands on one of the 6,500 bottles will find the liquid – which has been gently infused with kumquat and Japanese Oolong tea while also blended with a small amount of Asian pear juice and peach – to be smooth on the palate, filled with classic juniper, creamy tea and spiced bright peppery notes, all of which is underpinned with a hint of smokiness. Combining flavours of orange and currants with the warming spices of cinnamon, ginger, allspice, rosemary, coriander, and angelica, the resulting juniper-led gin has a fruity and robust finish, fit for a king. It is recommended served with Fever-Tree tonic, ice, and a slice of orange. With fresh citrus notes of grapefruit, crushed juniper and pink pepper on the nose, and a hit of jammy raspberry and fresh strawberry with a hint of vanilla on the palate, it’s easy to tell that the limited edition Platinum Jubilee gin by the Cotswold Distillery was inspired by classic British summer desserts. Raising a glass to the highly anticipated coronation of King Charles III is Silent Pool, a brand that is no stranger to commemorative royal bottlings. Releasing an exclusive Coronation Gin ‘fit for a royal’, the limited edition blue and purple bottle is said to be the perfect tipple for enjoying at a street party. We wanted to mark the occasion with the launch of Devon Red Cider, which is created from British apples grown and pressed in Devon, using traditional methods, at the oldest working cider mill in the UK.

Theakston Brewery joint managing director Simon Theakston said: “As a brewery, we’re immensely proud of our almost 200-year heritage and it’s fascinating to consider that as a business we have been witness to nine monarchs and seven coronations.” Brewer T&R Theakston is raising a pint in celebration of the seventh coronation in its almost 200-year history with the launch of a special edition beer for King Charles III. To make it that extra bit special, the producer has also steeped some butterfly pea flowers into the gin to give it a blue hue, resulting in a ‘delicate and well-balanced’ gin. Shakespeare Distillery suggests serving the gin with either Fever-tree Elderflower Tonic or Fever-tree Light Indian tonic water and a slice of lemon. Presented in a dark glass bottle with an eye-catching regal purple and silver label, the Cotswolds Distillery wanted to make a gin with all the depth of flavour and complexity expected of a Cotswolds Distillery gin, but with a delicious summertime twist, creating the perfect combination between classic and contemporary to mark this very special event.

The recipe is a combination of flavours of orange and currants with the warming spices of cinnamon, ginger, allspice, rosemary, coriander, and angelica. The resulting juniper-led gin is said to have a fruity and robust finish. To mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, the City of London unveiled a new still called Elizabeth after the late Queen. It is on this still that all Whitley Neill’s London Dry gins are made, including this special release. English wine producer Chapel Down has announced the release of a limited-edition English sparkling wine to commemorate the coronation with all profits being donated to the Royal British Legion.
