About this deal

Even though I wanted to console my ego and convince myself that it was okay that Miles had cried more times than I had during the funeral planning. That the funeral director handed him the box of tissues and never offered them to me. Nothing I could say to myself would fix the cold, hard heart my past had left me with. And one time Shelby helped making breakfast for the guest at the Inn and got some flour on her cheek: No one had it perfect. We’d messed up so bad that, sometimes, the best thing to do was to call a foul and walk away. His words were like poison to my soul. It was easier to believe that my grandmother hated me than to think she’d spent her life waiting for me to return. When I was in New York, I could pretend that we had a mutual understanding. Our family was toxic. A broken mix of flawed people that fate stupidly threw together. My grandmother, my mother, and me.

In every book, Anne-Marie strives to bring you swoon worthy romance that curls your toes while keeping things sweet and clean. That means no on screen sex, violence, or language. What an interesting story about a young woman’s life, her memories from her hometown. Having to deal with the stress from what she endured growing up, and facing the different people in town and their judgement, it’s so stressful. This story is sad, beautiful, enlightening, and loving. Beautifully written.❤️"Love this story so much it is beautiful written!" --Reviewer It's the moment that Harmony Island has been waiting for: the reading of Charlotte Cane's will. TikTok books are a trap. An absolute trap. I watched a few tiktoks that the author posted of scenes from this book. It sounded amazing, especially the scene where he says he needs to protect both of them in the same house. But ugh this book was so incredibly disappointing. Absolutely nothing that happened made sense. The entire book took place in about 5 days worth of time, yet somehow none of it made sense. There was zero character development, I felt absolutely no connection to either of the main characters. And we had POVs from a completely unrelated character. I typically don't bother finishing books that I can't stand the plotline or the timeline, but like I said, I was waiting for that one TikTok scene and it didn't happen until about 90% of the way through the book, and was honestly nothing compared to what the author's posts made it seem like it was going to be about. You okay?” Miles’s voice was low and rumbly. I wasn’t sure if it was because of our history or the situation we were in.

Don’t even get me started on the nonverbal three year old who only eats cheerios, plays with toys, and takes four naps a day, never needing or interrupting adults. Even though it had been years since we’d spoken, I still wanted to please her. To settle her into her final resting place in comfort.
Movement next to me drew my attention over. The man asked for my name, and I managed to get that out. He didn’t say much else as he put the car into drive and took off down the small, one-lane road that led to Main Street. Ahhhh I hate cliffhangers and now we have to wait a year for the second book to drop. It was a good storyline, I did find it a bit slow in parts and we didn’t really get an insight to the characters past. I was the only one left carrying the burden of the failure that was our small, dysfunctional family. Now, I'm not so sure. Especially when his love for his daughter is contagious, or the way he looks at me when he doesn't know I see him. I'm so confused and I want to run away like I did in the past, but I can't. And when Miles touches me like that...I don't want to. I like the small town setting with local gossips and hidden pasts, budding romances. Single hot dad trip etc. Meet up with Abigail who runs the small bookstore-slash-bakery in town as she fields all the gossip from every do-gooder who comes in her store for a cup of coffee. She also has to navigate her heart as she falls hard for a mysterious construction worker who has an even more mysterious roommate. We do?”
I opened my eyes, looking up at the white canopy that protected us from the rain. “Despite what you say, she wrote me out of her life a long time ago. There’s no point in pretending otherwise.”
“Shelby—”
“Miles, I’m tired.” I pulled my phone out of my purse and opened my rideshare app.

I grew up watching Hallmark movies and as an adult guiltily indulge in them. This book from start to finish had me smiling, crying and even a moment or two screaming at Shelby and Miles realize what's going on...This is my first time reading anything by Anne-Marie Meyer and I must say I am going to go read everything I can get my hands on that she's ever written." I thought I was content with my life. My business is booming. I have a boyfriend. Sabrina is coming out of the darkness that seemed to have taken over her since Samuel's birth. But for some reason, I'm not happy. USA Today Bestselling Author, Anne-Marie Meyer brings you another heart pounding sweet, small town romance! This book has it all, the sexy single dad, the bosses and all the feelings! I read this book in less than 24 hours, I didn’t want to put it down! I hit the cliffhanger at the end of the book and now I’m counting down to the next part! Miles will melt your heart and give you everything you want in the protagonist! I nodded, tightening my grip on my upper arms. “I’m just glad it’s over. I’m ready to get out of here.” Miles remained quiet. I peeked over at him, worried that I’d said the wrong thing. “I mean—”
