Metallica – fight fire with fire (01:11-01:52), a lot more mid-bass on the Sundara and more textured, it is faster and tighter on the R70X but bass strikes are more distinct on the Sundara. Brighter on the R70X but much more tonally correct and still similar detail on the Sundara. With a chassis constructed from sheet metal, not plastic, the SUNDARA headphones are durable and long lasting. Despite this, the slim, aluminium chassis design means they’re comparatively lightweight – especially given their enveloping design. Excellent. Very excellent. Everything is metal and feels premium. Its odd that HiFiMan has such a well built headphone in comparison to Sennheiser not having a well built headphone with the 560S. The adjustment mechanism does scratch the metal though, not a huge deal.

Great Product, sounds fantastic (its a bit dark compared to similar planars), I've hear that the Audeze ones are a little warmer. In any case, do keep in mind that this will be a little heavier than your usual headphones and would be restricted to mostly listening sessions at home. There is a bit of treble, but very controlled, in certain cases this would be very enjoyable. Mids are more recessed than the 560S, but not bad at all. Similar level of midrange detail at first listen. Doesn't have the same awful midrange shout of the 560S. (Yay!)The flip side: the smoothness of the Sundara’s mids, while it can be a very nice quality, does come about at the cost of a loss of “detail” in the upper mids. Don’t get me wrong – the Sundara certainly has the ability to resolve most everything that comes its way, but it’s not always going to be starkly evident.

and I am convinced to the bone that Sundara are the headphone I been looking for. The sound is clean, very well separated and appears to be just pleasantly flowing out of the ear cups while sundara barely seem to be making an effort in making that sound so good. Although I still find the bass on sundara, to be a shade more for my taste but that doesn’t come in my way of enjoying the music anyhow. Also the handband seems less hostile and seem to hate me little less now. Living in Glasgow, Scotland but born and raised near Milan, Italy, I got the passion for music listening as a legacy from my father and my grandfather. What made these headphones really shine is the outstandingseparation andexcellent timbral accuracyof the instruments. Specific location is not an issue with these headphones. What is created is a sort of alively presence, an acousticfeel which is my preference. If you happen to enjoy chamber music—an intimate experience with the solo voice of an instrument—these will be right for you. I put on Narciso Yepes Albéniz & Granados(2017 Deutsche Grammophon CD) pieces and they felt alive and in wonderful sound. I didn’t perceive a large, wide soundstage. The location of sound seemed more‘focused’,‘close’.I’ll describe it more as a‘chamber orchestra’ than a‘symphonic’sound. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The strings, for example, sounded fuller—one can imagine the violins close to the cellos and violas in collaboration for a specific sound space. This, in contrast to afull -blown‘heavy’sound.This headphone, along with the HD6XX, show that price and sound quality have nearly zero correlation in headphones. Technicalities: Shiro Sagisu – Hundred years war (02:24-02:57), soundstage is wider and a bit deeper on the R70X. Detail, separation and imaging are better on the Sundara. Timbre is a bit better R70X. Timbre is nice though not at HD600 level. Everything aside HD600 manages to convey more emotions and sound more natural altogether.
