First flush filters divert and flush the first water which enters the system when the rain starts pouring. This is because this first water is always the most contaminated by leaves, dust and other materials on the roof. This smart device allows you to fit a water butt diverter with minimal messing around with the downpipe. In rainwater harvesting systems water flows from the roof down a downpipe (drainpipe) to the water butt , where it is stored. Diverters are the pipes used to connect the downpipe to the water butt. The most basic are used to divert water only only, whilst others also filter the water they divert. Occasionally there are delays. The majority of our diverters and filters our supplied with 30-50cm hose to connect the filter/diverter to the water butt. If you’re looking to build a linking kit or attach some hose to your tank or water butt, this Hose Tail is also suitable for use with our 20mm I.D. / 25mm O.D. Extension Hose. Conventional downpipe filters and water butt connectors require 2 cuts in the existing downpipe with the filter or diverter sitting in line with the downpipe.

Self cleaning downpipe filters are an elegant means of filtering debris before it enters the water butt. They use the flow of water to clean the debris from the filter.
