About this deal

RetroTINK 2x M– Combining the component video cables linked above with the TINK-M will allow use of all the PS2’s resolutions, with optional scanlines and deinterlacing of 480i.

No image will be displayed with component cables unless a 240p/288p-compatible monitor or other workarounds are used. In most cases, PS1 discs can be run on a PS2 and perform identically. I’ll list the few shortcomings below, but for the most part, it’s exactly like playing the games on a PS1. When I played my ps2 with the av cable on the new tv it looked ok but when I changed to the component cable after changing the settings in the ps2 to Y Cb / Pb Cr / Pr I thought the picture was worse. Especially on letting on the screen. Some letting is really jagged with the component cable but with the av cable the lettering seemed sharp and more rounded. The RFU Adapter (SCPH-1122) is an RF Modulator and cable that carries mono audio and video at 576i/50Hz (PAL) or 480i/60Hz (NTSC) via an RF signal and connects using a TV aerial plug. [10] It is similar to the RFU adapter cable available for the PlayStation. HD Retrovision component cable + Retroscaler 2x + Marseille mClassic upscaler... this is getting expensive!!!: the mClassic takes the 480p output from the Retroscaler and upscales it to 1080p, adding a soft filter on top of it. The result is still pretty bad. The difference isn't huge, but it's the best picture out of all these setups. Honestly, for this usage scenario, the mClassic is NOT worth it. I know it can't work any magic with a 480p source, but it shouldn't be marketed as a good option for sub-HD consoles. Hey, at least, it doesn't add any lag. Fake widescreen: The widescreen mode only affects the scaling of the menu and HUD elements, the in-game field of view stays the same (meaning the image gets stretched). However if you want any progressive output from your PS2, component is the only real way to go. RGB(i.e VGA) is possible but somewhat problematic - official cables are hard to find, unofficial solutions are... well... *unofficial* (and so support might be patchy, not all games work, etc.) HD Retrovision component cable + Retroscaler 2x (Chinese Retrotink 2x clone): The Retrotink deinterlaces the picture (to a certain extent)... and outputs 480p instead of the original 480i. It still doesn't look "good" by any serious measure, it's shaky, but it's already something and is better than the previous solutions.

Devices like the OSSC will accept RGsB from a PS2, simply by switching the input after 480p mode is selected (or set the OSSC to auto scan the inputs). That’s it, nothing crazy, just toggle inputs based on 480i or 480p. Some 480p capable RGB monitors can accept a RGsB signal, simply by toggling the external sync button off when RGsB is enabled. Many (if not all) Sony monitors that support 480p have this option. NTSC-U version contains a hidden higher internal resolution mode activated by holding L1+L2+L3+ □+ ○ during startup. If done correctly, the initial legal screen should be displayed in purple color. [2] NeoGeo Online Collection Volume 6: Garō Densetsu Battle Archive 2/Fatal Fury Battle Archive Volume 2

Connect the other end of the video cable to your TV. Make note of the input that you are connecting to, as this will allow you to find the correct input when you turn on your TV. Match the colors of the plugs with the colors on the inputs. [3] X Research source There are two different models of the DVD remote control that were released, which had minor differences. The first one to be released is the SCPH-10150 (some are labeled as SCPH-10170, 10171 or 97042 [8]). The second, SCPH-10420U/97076, [9] is visually and functionally identical apart from the addition of eject and reset/power buttons. The eject button only works on SCPH-100xx to SCPH-500xx PS2 models, as the slimline PS2 models had no motorized disc tray to eject.
