About this deal

I’m new to this hobby so I don’t know all that much about stabs and pcb’s however I am doing my first build so it would be very much appreciated for the answers and tips! Compact Minimalism Layout + Ergonomics Design】As a 60% Hot Swappable layout compact mechanical keyboard, the GK64 truly makes advantage of each inch to include four separate arrow keys for ultimate experience.

Very confusing and the interface feels lacking, but once you learn all the ins and outs it performs adequately enough. A basic black box with simple logo embossed on the top and a couple of SKU stickers placed on the back. This allows them to be more readily identified just by feel for correct home row placement without having to look at the keyboard.

Some users, including myself, prefer the middle ground which is the brown switch that only has tactile feedback. Now, aside from the functions and lighting modes, we also have the macro list, and you can also set up lighting effects per key, but most importantly, you also have the shortcut feature wherein you can pretty much launch anything like videos, programs and other files just by pressing a single key.

While it would be beneficial to learn the soldering/desoldering process for future projects, there’s a quick and much easier solution that anybody can use to change switches without any type of specialized equipment: Hot swap sockets. With regards to the lighting modes, you can press FN + Backspace to turn the illumination on an off, and to adjust the brightness, you simply press FN + P and FN + open bracket, up until the led blinks indicating that it is the maximum setting. Both plate or PCB mount MX switch types should be compatible with these modular sockets, but PCB mount switches have two plastic legs extending from the housing. Most notable are the short right shift (1u), modifier keys to the right of the spacebar (removed or reduced to 1u) and slightly shorter 2u left shift.

If you don't receive the parcel after 140 days, please feel free to contact us for a solution (refund or reshipment). You can pretty much do anything you want, you can change any key to a different function like other keys, numpad, media keys, mouse functions, system and networking and you can also opt to disable some keys.

It works ok ( once you learn to use it), but could definitely benefit from some tweaks for better usability. This means, as long as the board itself is intact, you will be able to use this keyboard for a very long time. And lastly, we also have the layer switch feature which I think is the most important tool that you need for this keyboard. Like the GK61, the GK64 is also Hot-swappable but in a different way, as it is using standard switch rather than the optical switch that’s on the GK61. No flip-out feet, cable gutters, USB connection (USB-C port is located on the back side) or DIP switches of any kind. Now in terms of the keycaps, although the fonts used is pretty good, the keycap itself is not so much. The stabs can be removed relatively easy because the entire board can be disassembled with just a screwdriver and switch removal tool. The only problem is we lose the functionality of the capslock, which is not a big deal for me since I don’t use the capslock key anyways. The GK64 uses plate-mounted Cherry style stabilizers to keep the larger keys balanced and as you can see in the photo above they are generously lubed.

So if you’re planning to grab a hot-swappable keyboard, make sure you choose the right one for your preferred type of switch. This keyset has a beautiful gray and off-white color scheme with red accents provided by the Esc and arrow keys that is visually striking, at least in my opinion.

Not the type of design you’ll find mass produced on an assembly line from the popular mainstream brands. NKRO insures every key press will register 100% of the time no matter how many keys are pressed simultaneously. The GK64 is a 60% form factor mechanical keyboard in non-standard ANSI layout with true RGB backlighting, dye-sublimated PBT keycaps (DSA profile) and hot swap sockets for switch modularity. Copies the lighting files created using the gui to the Data/lighting/ folder so that the map command can use them.
